Gajim now offers integrated and modern OpenPGP encryption via [XEP-0374: OpenPGP for XMPP Instant Messaging](https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0374.html). OpenPGP encryption can be used as an alternative to OMEMO encryption. It supports 1:1 chats, group chats and file transfers. [Some XMPP apps](https://xmpp.org/extensions/#xep-0374-implementations) already support this standard, and some more announced to support it in the future.
